About Akiko: Growing up in southern California, designer Akiko Yasuda spent hours drawing the clothes she wished she had. She realized her dreams with sewing instruction from her grandmother and design school. Her eponymous collection started as a t-shirt company in her apartment, which quickly grew into a major contemporary label with figure-flattering styles on the cutting edge of fashion.
